Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Hello again, my dear readers. Greetings to you in this merriest of Seasons! We now find ourselves at the end of a very remarkable year: my long journey to the publishing of my memoir.
In my last blog, I briefly chronicled an encounter I had with a man in Moscow. In the future, there will be many more stories about my early years traveling in the former Soviet Union. But for now, the tone that I want to strike with all of you is a tone of hope. The dark days of winter lead to a bright light. Christmas reminds us that there is much hope in the word in spite of the darkness we may encounter all around us. The perennial message is that after darkness, there is light; after struggle, there is victory—be it large or be it small.
Along with Tiny Tim, let’s all enjoy the simple pleasures of this season—shimmering garland, the crackling fireplace, twinkling lights, the scent of fresh evergreen, stockings hung from the mantel—as we raise a cheer to the Light of the world with glowing hopes for the coming year!
